North, 21.26? East, 136 km southern than Belgrade, on the banks of the river Belica. Its name stems from word strawberry in Serbian. The city was first known at 1399. like "Jagodna". In period 1946-1992 city name was Svetozarevo. In 2003 the city has total population of 35,600. It is the administrative center of the Pomoravlje District of Serbia. Jagodina's mayor is Dragan Markovic 'Palma', who was earlier associated with Arkan's Party of Serbian Unity . 'Palma' was elected mayor in october 2004.
